Symptoms
When you try to upload a file the error message "Invalid XML was sent to
the server" is returned and the upload fails. If you upload via the component
Upload file 2.0 and the option Preserve File Name is set the page crashes
entirely.
Cause
This error occurs if name of the file you try to upload contains any of the
character > < &. This error occurs because the file name is sent as
XML to the server and the file name is not XML-encoded.
Resolution
Rename the file so that none of these 3 characters remains and try to
upload the file again.
Status
This error has been fixed in Content Studio 4.0 build 1010. Also the same
version improves the error handling in the File upload 2.0 component so
that such errors does not crash the entire page.
